Gallery Nine by Five Fremantle marks the anniversary of its opening with
an exhibition of paintings nine inches by five. In addition
to the artists normally represented by the gallery, there are a number of
distinguished guests contributing to the show......
Artist's statement
I use paint and colour to express my ideas and thoughts. I am inspired by
shape, colour and form that surrounds me. Simple trips on the train can
often inspire me to paint the shapes and colours I see. Whether the work has
a horizon line or not I like to flatten and simplfy by using colour and
shape to tell a story. I would definitely describe myself as a colourist and
I am in my element when I express myself in this way, applying the paint
intuitively using opaque and translucent techniques. Enjoy viewing my work
