04/11/2008 The St Bernards Art exhibition was a great success. I sold 8 of my works with some of the proceeds going to the new Art room at the School. The opening attracted a big crowd where I was asked to open the exhibition. I was a little nervous getting up giving a speech but all the people of the Kojonup community made me feel so welcome. With great art, wine and food the night was most enjoyable. I thank everyone who helped make it such a great success. Untitled-2.jpg

04/08/2008 The opening of the 9 x 5 exhibtion went great with all of my work sellling on the opening night. A lot of people showed up considering the weather was so rough that part of the fremantle bridge was closed of due to roof tiles flying off one of the buildings. The Hale art show during the weekend attracted some wonderful work by local artists and the opening night was most enjoyable. Currently I am working in my studio in Fremantle continuing with images inspired by my trip to the Northern Territory in April and a Mirvac commission of Leighton beach. In September I will be heading to the Pilbara and Kimberleys on a painting trip which I am very excited about and I am looking for a space for my next solo exhibition so I will let all know when that is finalised. If you would like to be on my mailing list please email me jacinda@artbyjacinda.net

18/04/2008 I have returned from my trip to the Northern Territory where I was overwhelmed by the scenery. I sat out in the heat a created many watercolours painting from sunrise to sunset capturing the amazing colours. I was lucky to meet another artist on my travels and we shared our visual experiences as we sat and sketched. I was able to see this incredible land from the sky also as I was able to take a helicopter ride over Aryers Rock and the Olgas. I then travelled to Kings Canyon, Glen Helen, Gosse Bluff, Ormiston Gorge, Finke River to Palm Valley and travel along the spectacular Western MacDonnell Ranges. I have now come back and rearing to get into the studio to get all my ideas on to canvas. It will have to wait till Monday though as I now travel to Dunsborough for my Exhibition at ZinZan Gallery in Dunsborough. ayers rock.jpg
07/04/2008 I have finished my Broome pieces and they will be exhibited along with some of my work from Italy and Margaret River at my Solo show "Art By Jacinda" at Zin Zan Gallery in Dunsborough. I will be returning on the 19th April and then heading to Dunsborough for a "meet the Artist night" where people can taste some of the local wines and speak to me about my art practice. Boab tree.jpg
13/03/2008 This week I finished another work on my Broome Series. I have one more to complete which will make 12 works in total (3 of which have sold). I will be concentrating on the Miravc commissions of Leighton Beach up untill my Trip to the Northern Territory in April. On Monday I delivered one of my Broome works ("Anastasias Pool" pictured right) to the Mandjar Art Awards The awards are to be held at the Mandurah performing Arts centre. 11/02/2008 As I progress with the Broome series that seems to be evolving and growing. I have Booked a trip to the Northern Territory. This Trip is planned for April so I should have finished my Broome series by then. I can't wait to capture the Red Centre on canvas. I am also currently working on a commission for Mirvac's Leighton Beach Development. There will be 8 works in total depicting various images of Leighton Beach. This is a wonderful project for me as I have total freedom to express in paint a place I relax and swim at often. Late last year I completed a commission for a Cottesloe family for their beautiful home where they asked me to do an outdoor work. It was to reflect the design of the house while incorporating the feel of Cottesloe beach. The works were to be positioned outside over their swimming pool. (See attached photo) I was so pleased with the end result and the clients were happy to. view-2.html.jpg

Also I am enjoying being back in Fremantle where I have settled into my new studio. Treetop Walk Walpole
01/01/2008 Happy New Year!! I have now moved to my new Studio in the Old Customs House in Fremantle on Phillimore Street. I am still currently working on a series of 6 paintings that were inspired from my recent trip to Broome. Portraying the heat and colour of the North West Landscape has proved to be most enjoyable. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to view any of my work. I am heading down South this Weekend to Vasse where I have entered an Art show there that opens on the 13th January.
11/12/2007 Broome was absolutley fantastic! The bright Pindan red against the blue waters was inspiring. It took me no time at all to pick up the brushes and pencils as start sketching and painting. I hired a car and drove to several places around broome and painted for 3 days. The weather proved a little hectic as the heat was around 35 to 40 degrees but I found it all to be part of the experience. I am now back in Perth with many sketches and photos and full of inspiration. I have started 2 works aready and plan at least 6 in the series. I was particually taken with Gantheaume Point and the Mangroves which are the subject of my first 2 works. Broome.jpg
26/11/2007 I had a wonderful weekend out at the Swan Valley yesterday with a painting group. We started at 9.30am and started by meeting each other and talking about what we wanted to achieve and what we would like to get out of the day. We then headed off with all our paints and came back together for lunch to to regroup and and have much needed refreshments. It was a great day spent speaking about our art and trying to get out of our comfort zones. This Saturday I fly to Broome for a painting trip for 4 days so will keeep you all in touch with how it goes. Swan valley.jpg
20/11/2007 I was also involved in the Mandurah 9 x 5 Art Auction that was to help raise money for the Mandjar Art awards held every year. The night was a huge success with artists donating their work on the 9 x 5cm sized canvas or board. I was one of the 20 Artists whose work was framed and Autioned on the night. The Mandurah Arts Centre raised over $14000 making it thier most successful Auction to date.
